Inspired by The Pastels, the various bands of Amelia Fletcher, and those Razorcuts, the Snowbirds were born from Cardiff University students Charlotte and Matt. This self-described “cutie” outfit melded C86, frenetic guitar buzz pop and boy/girl vocals in the attempt to perfect the “60’s jangly sound.”
From 1990-1996, the group supplied several tracks to various flexi/tape labels of the day. Today, these releases are almost impossible to locate. Loving curated by Charlotte, “Beautiful Morning” features 17 hand-picked selections from the 1991 “Beautiful Dreamers” cassette, the “Motorcycle Baby” flexi, a split 7” with Les Poissons Solubles, CD/tape comp tracks and unreleased nuggets that have just seen the light of day.
This A to Z retrospective also includes never-seen-before photographs, lyrics and front/back cover art endorsed by the band.
