Bakersfield post-punk duo Fawns of Love are back with their second KXLU Part Time Punks radio session titled, Part Time Punks Session: Permanent Revisited 12” EP (Obeah Records). With this release this wife and husband duo further evolve their post-punk ethos using Cocteau Twins inspired reverb drenched vocals along with New Order inspired guitar leads and sequences. It features a live performance at Cave Studio (recorded by Josiah Mazzaschi) of five tracks that originally appeared on their Permanent LP. Fawns of Love sought to add new dimensions to these five tracks by re-working the songs and creating new versions specifically tailored for Michael Stock’s Part Time Punks radio show on KXLU.

Since the release of their critically acclaimed 2019 LP Permanent (Test Pattern), which according to LA Weekly, “...creates gorgeous swathes of moody, melancholic music,” the duo has had the honor of being LA Weekly’s album of the week, being one of Grimy Goods’ “20 Bands to Watch in 2020,” and the honor of being included in an impressive range of Best of 2019 end of the year lists including The Big Takeover Magazine, GhettoblasterPart Time Punks, and The Current. Fawns of Love also had the privilege of performing with many prolific DAIS Records acts including Choir Boy, Xeno & Oaklander, Cold Showers, and SRSQ. Lastly, FoL was thrilled to be a part of Michael Stock’s Part Time Punks 14th Anniversary and to be included in the Echo Park Rising Music Festival (2019) lineup.

Press:

“It’s all neon and 80s moodiness, a dutiful and gorgeous resurrection of their own fascinations with reverb-soaked melancholia of decades past.”

“It takes the duo’s love for the eccentric and moodiness of decades past… it’s dark, yet beautiful.”
